There is nothing so satisfying as coming home with a lovely armful of fresh flowers. While the colours can liven up the room, the natural scent makes it more inviting. However, even the prettiest flower box needs a little TLC if you want it to stay in tip-top shape as long as possible.

Start with a Clean Vase
Wash your vase before you put any of the flowers in the water. A dirty vase leaves room for bacteria to grow and can cut the lifespan of your flowers. Make sure to look at the bottom and side of the vase, as this is where residual tendency also collects over time. A clean vessel will keep the water fresher and also a nice environment for flowers to rest on.

Trim the Stems Properly
